Pregnancy complications: what the research reports, and who it studied
Pregnant women are frequently excluded from trials. See what the research base looks like and who it reports on.
As of 24 August 2026, OpenAlex indexes about 620,000 works matching "pregnancy complications". FemHealth searches PubMed, Europe PMC, OpenAlex and ClinicalTrials.gov together and shows, on every result, how many of those studies actually report who was included by sex.
Most medical databases tell you what a study found. FemHealth also tells you who it studied: how many women were included where the abstract reports it, whether outcomes were analysed by sex, and whether pregnant or breastfeeding people were excluded, each labelled with where the data came from.
