Multiple sclerosis in women: what the research reports, and who it studied

MS is more common in women, and pregnancy alters its course. Review the evidence and its reporting.

As of 7 July 2026, OpenAlex indexes about 140,000 works matching "multiple sclerosis women". FemHealth searches PubMed, Europe PMC, OpenAlex and ClinicalTrials.gov together and shows, on every result, how many of those studies actually report who was included by sex.

What FemHealth shows you

Most medical databases tell you what a study found. FemHealth also tells you who it studied: how many women were included where the abstract reports it, whether outcomes were analysed by sex, and whether pregnant or breastfeeding people were excluded, each labelled with where the data came from.
